Types of Stress
The following are the four main types of stress.
• EUSTRESS: This is a positive stress that arises out of need for motivation or inspiration. This is a short-term stress and arises at points of enthusiasm.
• DISTRESS: This is a negative stress and arises due to any alterations or disturbances in the routine that creates discomfort. This may be acute or chronic. Acute stress refers to distress that arrives and disappears immediately. Chronic stress is a prolonged distress.
• HYPERSTRESS: This occurs when a person is overloaded. When a person is hyper stressed, even a little thing can result in a strong emotional response.
• HYPOSTRESS: This is an antonym for hyper stress. When a person gets bored or does not work, he gets hypo stress.
